Of Catholic Daughters Is Event
Of Coming Week-End In Eugene
THE Eugene Catholic Daughters of
America will be hoatesaea to the
visiting delegatea of Catholic Daugh
ters of the stste on Saturday and Sun
day, October 27 and 28, at the annual
state conference which will be held
In thla city. The various courts of
Oregon will be represented at the
week-end meetings. Mis Anns Dunn,
state regent, Portland, will preside
over the sesalons.
In connection with the snnusl state
conference meeting the local Catholic
Daughters of America will commenv
orate their silver jubilee. In 1000 the
local court of Eugene waa founded, as
the first Catholic Daughters on the
Pacific coast. Looal leaders of Eu
gene participated In the movement
that established many courts in the
states on the western cosat of the
United States.

be honor guest at the Royal Neigh
bora of America meeting this coming

Girl Scouts
THE fall celebration of Girl Scout
Week, In honor of the birthday
of the Girl Scout founder, Juliette
Low, will be held from October 27
to November 3. McMorran and Wash
burne's will have a complete window
display of Girl Scout equipment and
accessories during the week and radio
programa will be given through the
courteay of KORE. Saturday, Oc
tober .7, is all-county play-day on
the univeraity campus, with Mlas
Betty Alien in charge, assisted by the
lieutenants' troop. Games, contests
and swimming are on the program.
Every Girl Scout In Eugene and the
aurrounding communities is invited
to attend this play-day from two until
five oclock in the afternoon. Ten
cents will be charged for swimming.
Sunday, October 28, Girl Scouts
will attend churches by troops. Mon-
day is designated as thrift day, Tues
daya aa handicraft day, Wednesday,
founder's day, Thursday, hostess day.
All Girl Scouts who have nniforma
are asked to wear them during Girl
Scout week. Friday, November 2, tbe
Girl Scouts of troop No. 6 are serv
ing at tbe Lane County Home Prod
ucts dinner st the chamber of com
merce. Many Hallowe'en troop parties
are being held during the week from
October 27.

passing their cooking requirements
for second class, are giving a dinner
for the troop members st the home of
their captain, Misa Hasel Seavey,
Tuesday evening, October 23.

chapter houae Thursday afternoon.
