Chuck Smith of Cottage Grove will match holds with Stub Garoutte of Clup Creek in the first wrestling bout, In the second, Glen Swanaon of Cottage Grove will wrestle Vic Lello, Brice Creek. In the firat boxing bout Oscar Newton of Cottage Grove wiu go three rounda with Kenneth Lello, Brice Creek. In the second, Milford Mooney, Cottage Grove, will trade blows with Harold Woodfield, Gun ter. The third bout will be between Warreu Wright, Gunter, and Chet Meyers, Brice Creek. The fourth bout will be between Merle Wright and George Kerr. Kerr won from Wright on the last card and Wright asked for another match. Frank I.eoo, Brice Creek, will meet Al Mustola, Gunter, in the fifth bout. A red hot curtain raiser ia arranged between local boys. Bill Collins will referee the fighta and Lloyd Grigga the wrestling. The Neighbors of Woodcraft enter tained with a hard times party at their regular meeting Wednesday night at which Creswell lodge were visitors and many unique eostumea were in evidence. Mr. and Mra. Gor don Davis of, Colorado were apecial visitors, Mrs, Davis is district organ izer and addressed the meeting. The local lodge are launching an extensive membershin campaign. Mra. Mary Gil- llspie, of Walterville, a former resi dent, waa also a visitor. The visitors were presented with flowers. A aocial evening at cards followed the business meeting and rcfreshmenta in paper sacks concluded a social evening. Mrs. Wilbur Wilson and Mrs. Charles Ste vena were the refreshment committee. Miss Vera Guyther, guardian neighbor of the Creswell lodge was among the visitors preaent. At the Keepers nf the Den lunch eon Thursday at the Colonial, Mra. K. K. Slills, chnirmnn of the cod liver oil committee, had four children pres ent who had been given the oil treat ments by the group the past few months, showing marked improvement in the health of these children. The group made plans to entertain the senior class of Cottage Grove high May 5. at the Roy Short summer home south of town. Mrs. E. H. Luce and Mrs. D. A. Emerson were ap pointed as a committee to report on the SERA work. Curtailment of service at Cottage Grove postoffice has been ordered, according to Postmaster N. J. Nelson. This curtailment began Tuesday with only one delivery a day in the resi deuce districta. Two deliveries a day will be continued in the business sec. tion. and one parcel poat delivery which will be in the afternoon. The Brice Creek CCC camp will move next week to the Orhoco forest near I'rineville. Some of the men will be sent to Tiller and a portion of the group are local men. It is expected that road work on Brice Creek will be completed by a side camp on Steamboat. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Kern entertain ed at dinner Thursday evening com plimenting Mr. Kern's parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. M. Kern, Miss Myrtle Kern, and Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Corey of Colorado. Cushing of Fengra were Cottage Grove visitors Thursday. Mrs. H. C. Weill, Mrs. Victor Chambers and Mrs. Ralph Snltaman were Eugene shoppers, Wednesday. The Royal Arch Masons had degree work Wednesday night and refresh ments were served. The regular monthly dance and card party of Maaonic lodge was held on Thursday evening at Masonic temple. Sara Rubenstein, wool buyer of Eugene, slipped through the skylight at the John Veatch home Wednes day and fell down into the kitchen, fracturing two ribs. A local physician was called and aet the fracture. Elkton Union High Teachers Re-Elected ELKTON. April 13. (Special) J he teachers of the Elkton Union high school and of the Elkton grade school have been re-elected for the coming year. The high school teachera are Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wllfert and Miss Catherine Carter and grade acbool teachers are Walter Richardson, Miss Agnes Smith and Miss Ruth Ford.. The Elkton high school is making preparation to present the play. "The Importance of Being Earnest. This piny, which waa written during the "gay nineties," will be presented as a costume play. This will be one of the most ambitious undertakings of the high school dramatic group in some time. A group of Elkton people present ed the play. Torgenson and Creed Brattain drove to Eugene Friday on matters pertain ing to this unit. m m The city council haa made an agree ment with the Weat Coast Power company to again furnish street light ing, beginning after April 15 and after a town darkness of the past several months. Only eight 100-watt lighta at a cost of $2.50 per light monthly will be turned on for the present. Dumping of rubbish will be per mitted along the street grade adjacent to the B. A. Murray lota on First street. Rubbish to be covered later. City ordinances governing the sale of beer on Sunday were ruled as ob solete and the recent enses brought up dismissed and flnea nullified as were also the violationa of displaying wares on sidewalka and warning made that fines would be levied in the fu ture unless apecial permita for such displays be secured from the city council. A five and one-half pound baby daughter waa born at three o'clock Thursday afternoon, April 6, at the C. J. Colter home, to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Neispo, Glenada residents. Mrs. Spencer was recommended for district deputy. An Invitation was received to attend the district meet ing of I. 0. O. F. at Cottase Grove April 20, the anniversary of the found ing of the order and to supply a num ber for the nroifram. Mrs. Clara Trailer and Mrs. J. E. Woodson were arranging for the number and also provide entertainment for the nnt meeting. Mrs. M. T. Jackson and Mrs. Shank will serve on the refreshment committee. Roses Grown Out Doors Blooming A dosen beautiful roses, all per fectly shaped, were brought to .the Keglster-Guard Thursday by C, L. Itoyds, aa specimens of some of the first outdoor grown roses to bloom this spring. The roses were grown on the J. M. Green plnce on Greenhill drive, Crow Ktage, which ia about seven miles west of Eugene. Mr. and Mrs. Green are at present living in Pasadena, but plan to come here to make their home ns soon as they have disposed nf property in California.
