James W.- Alaloncy of Fondle tou will
be "checked In" as collector ot Inter
nal revenue for Oregon on Monday,
July 17, and Clyda V. Huntley, the
retiring collector, will be "checked
out" by auditors of the office of the
super vigor of collections and accounts
of tbe internal revenue department.
This Information was received by
Huntley today.
It is the custom 0 tbe Internal
revenue department to cheek the ac
count of all collector! semi-annually
as a matter of routine, and when a
transfer is made from an outgoing to
an incoming collector, a special check
and inventory is tnken.
Maloney and Mm. Maloney hare
left Portland for a visit with friends
on the coast, expecting to return
next week.

Plan Big "Fish Fry"
SPRINGFIELD, July 7. (Spe
cial) Pinna for an annual trout
dinner to be given 'on the McKemie
river got underway Friday when the
Liona club authorized a committee
to make arrangement, for such an
affair to be held the latter part of
July.
The entire community will be In
vited to attend the "fish fry." and
it la expected that many out-of-town
guest, would also take part. Piatrlet
and state officer, of the Lions elub
hare already expressed interest hi
tho project, and plan to he here, it
was reported at the fortnightly Lions
club luncheon Friday. Dr. W. C
Rebhan. W. K. Barnell, and John
Pyie are on the committee to make
arrangements for the "fkfh fry."
At it. Friday meeting the flub
decided to hare a monthly picnic
during the coming three months, al
ternating these with the regular
luncheon meeting. II. 0. Dibble and
W. E. Buell will captain baseball
teams which will play a 'series of
game, the losers to furnish a dm
ner for tho winners. The committee
in charge of the picnic, I. Larsen
Wright, E. O. Stewart, and Kiel
Pollard. The first of these affairs
will be held on July 21.
The Lions voted to provide the
program for the community celebra
tion which will be held for tne open
ing of the Booth-Kelly mill Saturday,
July 15. Floyd Flanery, Dr. W. C.
Rebhan, and P. J. Bartholomew are
to get the number, on the program.

port of the gold group under pressure
from the dominions which favor im
mediate price raising schemes.

ports to prove that temporary stabi
lization should be brought about by
