Park Blocks Cleaned The rubbish left over from the Fourth of July celebration has all been cleared away from the park blocks and water has again been turned on in an effort to start the grass to growing again. Springfield Man Loses 2 Fingers J. Steinmets of Springfield lost two fingers on his left hand as result of an accident Thursday morning when a gopher gun accidentally went off. Mr. Steinmets was setting the gopher gun when it exploded. The index finger of his hand was torn off entirely and the middle fin ger so badly damaged it too had to be amputated. The thumb and ring finger were injured also slightly. .Mr. Steinnintz was brought to the Pacific hospital for treatment. The accident happened shortly after 6 a. m. Factor Release Expected Soon CHICAGO. July 6 UP) New hope that John Factor, kidnaped speculator may be released sometime soon, pos sibly today, came to his friends early this morning. This lnw wns declared by the state supreme court to be unconstitutional. This is a suit instituted by Mrs. Warren D. Loggers near Molalla reported that buzzards were circling MT. WASHINGTON ED A climb to Mt. Washington, most difficult peak in the Cascade range, will be conducted by the Eugene Obsidian chili as a feature of their annual summer camp In the Three Sisters area this summer, it was announced by Hay Sims, camp di rector for this year. The trip will be a two-day jaunt from camp and will bo led by Ed Johnson who led the only other Ob sidian party to the top of Mt. Wash ington last year. Many persons hare expressed a desire to make this climb and it is expected that several theft, for a change of venue. The will go to camp for this climb. Mt. Washington, north of the Mc Kenzie htghwny over the pass, ii not as high as the Three Sisters, but is much more difficult of ascent due to a 1000-foot chimney which leads to the top.
