Morris whose 60th wedding anniversary was celebrated in the Methodist church parlors by the ladies' aid society, on Monday night, were both born In Cao eyville, Ky. They were married at Caneyville and after several years moved to Bnssett, Neb., and lived there nutil coming to Oregon. They hnve three living children, Mrs. Stella Davidson of Eugene and Mrs. Er nest Smith of Butte Falls, and one son, O. B. Morris, of Eugene. Mrs. Davidson wns up from Eugene and helped celebrate their anniversary. The granddaughter, Mrs. Lucille Ilnney of Eugene wns to have sung n solo, but was too ill to come. B. V. Morris Is SO years old Dec. 8, and Mrs B. F. Morris. 78, on March 11. Sixty-two were present at Chris tian Endeavor in tho Christian church Sunduy night. Stevenson and baby, Lenora, narrowly escaped death in an accident at Al bany Saturday when a ear struck the Stevenson car, wrecking both automo biles n,nd turning the Utewnson car over twice. Mrs. Stevenson face was bruised, rut and lacerated, but the baby and Mr. Stevenson escaped with minor injuries. The driver of the other car says he did not see Stevenson's car until he collided with it. He was looking; off up the street as there had been a fire and he was expecting the fire truck to come along that way. Harold M. Stevenson is city rec order at Brownsville and is a brother of 8tanley Stevenson of Lugene. Continued freezing weather Is pity ing havoc with the Brownsville water supply, as superintendent of water works. Dean Morse, finds it difficult to keen the reservoir full. AU over the city householders are letting fau cets run during the night to keep pipes from freezing and this prac tice, extended over a period of days, well night drains the city reservoir. It is hoped that no fires break out lu the city while the water aupply is thus at low ebb. ' George Fullager had a harrowing experience with frozen-up pipes when he wormed his way under the house to see if he could thaw them out When the pipes burst, George couldn't seeut to get turned around in-order to crawl - out and he was sprayed, drenched and otherwise, soaked with the icecold water before he could make good his toilsome escape. (Sn rial) The upper Calapooia district is rejoicing because the Mountain States Power compsny is bringing electric power and light into the region. Tbs crew is making its hesdausrters at Brownsville and is extending ths power line from this city eastward up the river to Crawfordsville. Between the two cities some t)5 far mers are planning to connect with the power line for light and power and at Crawfordsville many more will follow suit. Later on, the power lines will ramify into the Brush creek district and also in a northeastern direction to Holley, thence across the divide nor therly into the Santiam country and up to Sweet Home.
