instances where it excelled any other
country In the world, namely the
oldest college, the highest city, great
est engineering feats and the highest

with current events. This is the last
' meeting of the season for study. The

Cleaned on May 27

The Odd ellows lodge met in regular
session In the hall Thursday evening.
; Officers were nominated for the en
suing year.
It was decided to set May 2T as

Traffic Men to
Speak at Creswell

Captain Jay Sultzman of Eugene
and Sergeant Walter Lansing of the
state traffic force will speak at the
meeting of the Creswell grange Fri
day evening on the subject of safety
in traffic.
The talks will be given at 0 o'clock
during the lecture hour after the
business of the grange Is completed.

Vivian Rogers, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. R. L. Rogers, who broke her
left arm Inst Saturday playing ball,
is in the Eugene hospital. The two
bones below the elbow were shat
tered badly. She was taken to Eu
gen to have th wound dressed.

Gertrude L. 8kow met Tuesday at

They have 15 members and will meet

church held their regular monthly
business and social meeting, Tuesday

,T. S. Bond is visitine at the home of
his son, S. C. Bond and wife. Mr.
Bond Tvas formerly of Bandon. but
has recently disposed of his property
and has retired from business. He
is now on his way to visit at his old
home at Fort Worth, Texas. Mrs.
Bond who is visiting at Los Angeles
will join him there and make the trip
to Texas visiting at several points on
the way.

family and Mr. Crumnton's twin
brother, J. H. Crumpton of Fort
Nnuth. ArK., have occupied the duiiu

trip by plane to Portland Wednesday
morning. She will spend the week
end with friends in Seattle.
