Dormitory life at the uni versity has chanitcd somewhat since the construction of the new buildins. rhich has become the center of ac- "vi""- Enters Third Year , Filled almost to the, limit, the men's 'dormitory is well launched upon its third successful year, under the man agement of Mrs. !cnevleve Turnip seed, who came here this fall from the Eastern State Teachera' colleuc at Madison, South Dahota. At the present time there are 265 men lodged In the sii unlta of the dormi tory, which leaves but seven vacnni places, wlucn .urs. inrinpee ., lieves will probably be filled at the besinnins of the winter term, si- i though thero will probably be a few i of the present memDers wno win ur"i ont then. ..,,. A wejl-orsanlscd social life for each unit of the dormilnry Is part of the plan of Mrs. Turnipseed to make the 'hoys contented nnd nt home. Kuril 'Wednesday and Thursday Is devoted to dinner dances, so that each unit may have at least two of these a term. The boya may decorate their dining bulls, secure an orchestra, and they are served an especinlly nice meal. This week the football men. .who hoard at the dormitory during training season, are having a dinner dance. . . Eat At One Place The men of F lendly hall, and the rlrls who live In I he three women's dormitories, Mary Kpiller, Hendricks, and Kusan Campbell, also have their dining rooms In the men'a dormitory, so (list the planning and conking of the food for all these students may be concentrated In the big kitchens there. Each dormitory and each unit has Its own dining room, while there Is another one for persons living out aide the dormitory, and another small er one for special (roup luncheons or dinners. At times of big all-campus banquets, the whole may he thrown open into one enormous hall, sestlng hundreds of persons. F.sch nnlt of the dormitory has a sponsor, who is responsible for it and takes a lend In Us organlration. They are ns follows: Alpha, Douglas De Con; Gamma, I.ester Johnson: Zeis. Tloy llerndon; Hlgma, Fred Ilollen beck! Omega, Erie Peterson, and Blierry ltoss, James Mullins. All of those men are graduate or law stu dents. Clarence Wick is the sponsor for Friendly Hall. The men's dornitory Is considered to he one of the most up-to-date and henutlful buildings of this kind at any Institution on the coast. Ita man agement is sccording to the most up-to-date lines, since Mrs. Turnipsrcd has had a irent deal of eiperience in this line.
