Announcement has ben made that there will be no support pric es on vegetables for prx-essuig in 1946. Snap beans, beets, carrots, cabbage for kraut, and freich shelled beans have been removed completely ' from price control. Other vegetables grown in Ore gon will remain under price con trol in 1946. That most of the new farm ma chinery in Oregon is going to veterans is obvious from the number of preference certificates being issued to veterans by coun ty AAA committees. Many deal ers said this past week that they have more than enough prefer ence certificates on file to cover all of the machinery they expect to receive during the year. Of the 490 certificates ixued in January, only 93 were atisfied. Growers of berries, other fruits and vegetables are advised by the department of agriculture that production of containers is far be low normal and may not material ly improve this season. s s Linn county's poultry aitsocia tion will meet March 1 at the courthouse at Albany. Arranging the program are L. E. Arnold, I,etnon; A, J. Wilson. Albany; Mrs. Glenn Eastman, Albany; Noel Ben n ion, Corvallis;' O. Mikenell, Linn .county agent. s Also meeting March 1 at Salem are the agricultural committees from chambers of commerce throughout the state. A confer ence is being arranged for Deloa L. James, manager of the agricul tural department of the United States chamber of commerce Sa lem is the only city in Oregon where he will atop. ! - KSLM KOIN KCW KEX llin lllll Id n$ fc ((tike) (lit k-e 4 SO News i News I Sunrise SekM S.IS I fOrgsnist 1T0 Order 4.J4 I Words.
