Vets Neglect Payments on Life Insurance Despite its many advantages to the veteran, few national service life insurance policies are being kept in force by men Just out of the services, Hugh Rosson, direc tor of the state veterans depart ment, stated Wednesday. A recent survey indicated that in Marion county only two out of 10 veterans are keeping this insurance paid up. Veterans' in surance experts pointed out that this insurance is cheaper than private insurance and can be bor rowed on, up to 84 per cent of its cash value, after it has been converted and in force one year. Also, if a veteran becomes dis abled for longer than six months this insurance remains in force free of charge until his recovery. Recently lapsed insurance may be reinstated within six months after discharge or within three months after lapse, whichever is later, Rosson said, provided the veteran's physical condition Is the same as when the insurance lapsed. If the insurance has lapsed for a longer period it can be rein stated within an eight year period upon taking a physical examina tion and paying back premiums. and Roberta Georgia Griawold. 18, waitress, both Salem. No wonder, as school study becomes heavier and the reading of reference books is almost continuous, we have such a tremendous Increase of visual troubles all through school. Professional optometrists are doing splendid work in helping those children who have found the visual tasks of the school room too much for them. There are two separate problems (1) the child who is a good student but who has sacrificed clear vision at distance to do it. and (2) the child with excellent dis tance vision who if unable to concentrate attentioa on ita school work. If your chlld'a behaviour should indicate either of the above condition, it would be wise to consult your optometrist and have him make a thorough Investigation cf the child visual condition.
