Murphy, commanding officer of the U. S. Army Camp Chaffee, Ark., promoting him from the rank of captain to ma jor. The promotion is effective as of Jan. 5, 1916. Judd was elected county clerk Nov. 5, 1940. to take office in January of 1941 but was called into the ermy Dec. 6, 1940, and was released Dec. 6, 1941, one day before the Pearl Harbor at tack. He .was re-ordered into the army three months later on March 16, 1942. with the rank of second lieutenant in the ordnance depart ment. He was r-elected county clerk while still in the army in 1944 3nd he returned to his duties at the ekiks office Nov. 19, 1945. 12th Street Barlx-r Shop has moved to State Street Barber Shop at 1256 State St. A;. He and his wife are lodged in county jail on char ges of larceny from a dwelling. A diamond ring reported, stolen from the W. J. Bishop home was pawn ed for $2,00 and silverware report ed taken from the Werner Brown home was located at an assay of fice where it had been sold for S65.
