I Hoffmans Honored at Receptiori Mr. and Mrs. Raymond A. Hoff man were hosts for a reception honoring Mr. Hoffman's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond G. Hoff man on their 50th wedding anni versary 'Tuesday afternoon, June 24. Members of the family and, a few longtime friends called at their North 19th Street home be tween 2 and 5 o'clock. The table was covered with a floor length gold net cloth, caught up at each end with a cluster of miniature gold bells tied with white satin ribbon. Centerpiece was an arrangement of white stock, white and gold chrysanthe mums, gold satin ribbon bows flanked by crystal candelabra with gold tapers. Pouring was Miss Christine Fol da of Portland, sister of Mrs. Hoff man. Serving the cakes was Mrs. N. S. Wodd. Raymond G. Hoffman and Mary Polda were married in Iowa Qty, Iowa on June 24, 1908. They moved to Salem in 1921 and. have lived at their present residence since 1927. They have 'one son, Raymond A. Hoffman. Mr. Hoffman was as sociated with California Packing Corporation until his retirement in 1949. He is past master of Vista Lodge, AF&AM. A committee from Vista Lodge headed by Walter Lansing, grand master of Masonic Lodge of Ore gon; and John W. McCallister, master of Vista Lodge, presented Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman with a patio chaise lounge and chair on behalf of the membership of Vista Lodge. Miss Carol McDonald Mafried A Salem girl, Miss Carol Jean McDonald, was married to Byron Michael Coram on June IS at the Methodist Church in Sbedd. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert R. . McDonald of Shedd and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Byron L. Conan of Gig Harbor, Wash. . Rev. E." E. Shippen performed the S o'clock rites. Miss Donna Jackson sang and Mrs. Ray War ren was the organist. The bride wore a waltz gown of white embroidered nylon organza made with square neckline but lined with Scalloped ' embroidery and long sleeves. A onown of pearls and sequins held7 jn place her shoulder length veil. She car ried a cascade of pink Toses and white stephanotis. Miss Annette McDonald was the maid of honor, Miss Carol Wil coxon and Miss Pat Kicker the bridesmaids. They wort light blue, princess style, waltz dresses of chromespun jaffeta and carried white fans with pink roses. Edward Conan was best man and ushers were James Kenny and John Gray. A reception followed in the church parlor. Pouring were Mrs. Effie Conan, Mrs. J. C. Michael and Mrs. Ben Wright. Mrs. L. A. Zimmerman cut the cake, assist ed by Mrs. Kenneth Watgen. For going Iway the new Mrs. Conan wore a blue dress jacket ensemble. After a wedding trip to Crater Lake and along the Oregon coast the couple wp be at home in Estacada. ' Marlatt-Stark Rites Read at Albany Church JEFFERSON Miss Freida June Stark, daughter of Mrs. Clarissa Atkinson of Albany, became the bride of Francis Dee Marlatt, son of Mr. and Mrs.. Lloyd Marlatt of Jefferson, on Saturday, June 14 at the Albany Presbyterian church. Elder B. C. Behrmann of Albany performed the ceremony. Janet Vetter of Albany sang, ac comoanied by Mrs. Lyle E. Fos- mark of Albany. Lighting the candles were Sheila Babor and Sharon Zehner. Davy Babor was ring bearer and Sherry Kay Babor, flower girl. Carolyn Stark of Albany?- sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Merlene Barton of Albany, Mrs. Wayne Bennett of Salem and Louise Atkinson of Al bany, sister of the bride. , Gail Marlatt was best man for his brother. Ushers were two brothers, George and Ralph Mar latt, and a cousin, Gerald Zehner, of Salem. The petite bride wore -a full length bouffant bridal gown of ny lon net and lace over satin, with lace yoke. She carried a bouquet of white illusion veiling and steph anotis centered by a white orchid. Her short veil was held by a seed pearl crown. A reception .followed in the church rooms. The bride and benedict, both are graduates of Jefferson high school, the latter having finished his first year at Oregon College of Educa tion. They will live at' 529 Powell street, Monmouth, while Mr. Mar latt finishes his education.
