in Thomas Pickens Married To Portland Girl At Church Ceremony A number of Salem people were In Portland on Saturday after noon for the wedding of Miss Harriet Brooks Weinstein, daughter of Mr; and Mrs. Harry Weinstein of Portland, and Thomas Roen Pick ens, son of Mr and Mrs. Chester Pickens of Salem. The couple ex changed their vows at a 2 o'clock ceremony at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. John Wobig officiating. &aaie 1 nomas was the vocalist and Mrs. James Billeter was the organist. .White and blue was the color scheme for the wedding and the altar was banked with bou quets of white gladioluses and blue oeipmmum. For her weddjng the bride se lected a white silk taffeta gown fashioned with a very full, floor length skirt. The low, rounded neckline and cuff detail of the three-quarter sleeves were en hanced with Italian quipure. An imported French crown of seed pearls and brilliants held in place her fingertip illusion veil. She car ried a bouquet of white roses and white phalaenapsis orchids. The five attendants wore white nylon full skirted gowns trimmed with blue velvet bows and car ried white carnations tied with blue ribbon. Mrs. Richard La Manna was the matron of honor, Miss Sandra Karls, Miss Barbara Pfaff, Miss Karen Schoen and Mrs. William McFarlane, the brides maids. Gordon Domogalla of Salem served as best man for Mr. Pick ens, Seat ting the guests were John Eggfcrs of Corvallis, Raymond Tay lor, Jack L. Phillips, and Jerry Brendon. Mrs. Weinstein wore a lilac-blue ChantiUy lace gown for her daugh ter's nuptials and Mrs. Pickens chose a mauve rose lace gown. The newlyweds greeted their guests at a reception in the church parlor. Pouring were Mrs. John Eggers, the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. Clyde Carroll, Mrs. William Siedow and Mrs. Ted Motz, the latter two aunts of the bride. Cut ting the cake were Mrs. Wayne Whitbeck. Mrs. Rolls Sawtell and Mrs. Fred Lei bold. Assisting were Mesdames John Marinelll, Jesse HalL Roy Clark, Gordon Domo galla, James Fischer, Misses Vicki Ward, Barbara Ascher and Linda Latourette. After a wadding trip to Lake Tahoe the couple will be at home in Salem at 2115 Nebraska St. For traveling the new Mrs. Pick ens donned a blue linen sheath with matching coat and white ac cessories. Study Club Elects SHERIDAN Members of the Sheridan Woman's Study Club held their concluding meeting of the current year Thursday afternoon in the form of a picnic at the country home of Mrs. Ken Mullis. Vin cent dePaul Catholic Church on Saturday were Miss Emilie Jean Crowe, daughter of Mrs. Zene W. Crowe, and Harley John Weathers, son of Mr. and 'Mrs. Wilfred Weathers. Rev. Lowell P. Blackburn per formed the ceremony. Wayne Meusey was the vocalist and played the organ accompaniment. Dennis Epping and Stephen Burke were the altar boys. Of imported Swiss embroidery was the bridal gown, fashioned with a V neckline and elbow length sleeves outlined with embroidered scalloping. The floor length, bell shaped skirt terminated in a brush train and was designed with an overskirt of the embroidery with a deep hem. Her fingertip veil was caught to a headdress of organdy and lace enhanced with seed pearls. She carried a piece of lace from her paternal grandmother's wedding dress for "something old" and her flowers were white butter fly roses and stephanotis. Richard Crowe gave his sister in marriage. The bridegroom's two sisters preceded the) bride to the altar. Mrs. Robert Hammack was the matron of honor and Mrs. Laur ence Herberger was the brides maid. They wore pink taffeta gowns with alternating embroid ered panels and pink crowns with pearl trim and short veils. They carried nosegays of pink sweet peas. Brother Is Best Maa Carl Weathers was best man for his brother and groomsman was Donald Weathers, also a broth er. Ushers were Robert Crowe, the bride's brother and Laurence Herberger. Mrs. Crow wore an ice blue linen sheath with matching lace and marquisette bodice and a delft blue picture hat. Mrs. Weathers chose a shell pink linen dress with lace bodice and pink georgette hat. A reception followed at the KnighU of Columbus Hall. Cutting the cake were Mrs. Louis Schar bach, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Willian Lane. Pouring were Mrs. Carl Weathers and Mrs. James Lynch III. Assisting were Mrs. Paul Harris, Mrs. Carl Hills. Mrs. Harold Hills, and Mrs. Rooney Russell. For her wedding trip the bride wore a pastel blue embroidered sheath gown with matching coat and a white lace hat. Bethel 41, Job's Daughters will meet at the Scottish Rita Temple Monday night at 7:30 o'clock for the final meeting of the season.
