The officers of the past year are planning a dinner party to honor the new of ficers. Curtain time is 7:45 p.m. Series tickets will be good at all performances and ad mission to the single performance may be obtained at the door. Also starring in the powerful Shakespearean drama is the lovely Claire Bloom. The production is particularly noted for the beauti fully spoken English language by the cast of. highly trained Shakes pearean actors. AAUW is gratified by the favor able response to its sponsorship of the film series and is contemplat ing a second series for the near future. Miss Hart Weds Gerald Zehner JEFFERSON - Miss Anna Belle Hart, daughter of Mrs. Elizabeth Hart of Salem, and Gerald Arthur Zehner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed win Zehner of Jefferson, exchang ed marriage vows in the Jason Lee Methodist parsonage in Salem on Thursday, May IS. Rev. Luther Baker, Jr. read the double ring service at 8 o'clock. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Willis Hart of Dal las. She wore a beige suit with box jacket, and white accessories, and a white orchid corsage. Miss Linda Zehner of Salem, cousin of the bridegroom, was maid of honor. She wore a white sheath dress with yellow embroid ered flowers. Her accessories were white and she wore a corsage of pink rosebuds. Gary Zehner of Klamath Falls, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. A reception was held at the Zenith' Club Banquet The Salem Zenich Club will hold its annual Installation banquet Wednesday night at the Colonial House at 7:30 o'clock. On Sunday Mrs. Drexel White and Mrs. Claude Brown, both Woodburn, aunts of Miss Pomeroy, entertained with a fam- Birthday Honored JEFFERSON Mrs. Mary DeVfr ney observed her 90th birthday ea May IS and was guest of honor at a dinner party at her niece's restaurant in Albany. Taking Mrs, DeVaney were her daughters, Mrs, Lawrence Compton, Mr. Compton and Jean Ellis. She was born in Humboldt County, Calif, and came to Oregon by covered wagon when 11 years old. Her family settled near West Scio, where ber grand father, F. P. Fleener, had a large land holding. Much of this holding still is held by the family.
