Wl-The Young Democratic Clubs of Texas passed a resolution Sunday night criticiz ing the Texas Legislature for what 11 called attempts "to illegally cir cumvent the Constitution of the United States as interpreted by the Supreme Court." The resolution obviously was a reference to segregation legisla tion recently passed by the legis lature but it did not say so. ' " I Wayne Fong Pleads Guilty To Drug Count PORTLAND W) Wayne Fong, 29, Monday pleaded guilty to a charge of selling narcotics shortly before his. trial was scheduled to open in federal district court here. Asst. U. S. Atty. Robert Carney then moved for dismissal of the 11 other indictments against the Chinese curio store owner. Judge Gus Solomon said he would sentence Fong May 20. Pen alty for the violation could run from 10 up, to 40 years imprison ment. Fong and his wife recently were central figures in a murder trial that lasted some two years. They were accused of killing their 16- year-old babysitter, Diane Hank. Both were acquitted. Wages Drop During April WASHINGTON UP) Wage and salary payments to Americans dropped again in April. The Commerce Department, re porting this Monday said, how ever, that personal income rose by 600 million dollars on the strength of unemployment com pensation and other government payments. The rise brought personal in come to a rate of $342,800,000,000 a year or 44 billions below the record of last August, just before the business recession began. Flying Father-Son Bank Robbers Held Eggs Thrown After $18,000 Holdup; Confess Spree Lceed FAIRFIELD. Calif. If) A fly ing father ton bank robbery team from Utah, caught after robbing the Bank of America branch at Fairfield of $18,000 Monday, have admitted a bank robbery last week at Loomls, Calif., plus three others, the U.S. Attorney's Office reported. The two men, captured Just after the Fairfield holdup Mon day morning, were Identified as Gay W. Shelledy, 41, and his son, Jerry, 18, of Kearns, Utah. The Shelledys, who owa a fly ing service in Utah, were held on robbery complaints and bond of $30,000 was set for each. In Salt Lake City, Sheriff George Beckitead said the elder Shelledy had beea identified as one of two mea who robbed the Riverton, Utah, branch at the Walker Bank and Trust- Co. of $2,710 last Feb. 18. The same branch also had been robbed of $4,700 Oct. IS, 1937, by twe men. Asst. U.S. Atty. C. Joseph Ber tain Jr. said the Shelledys signed statements admitting the $2,391 holdup last week of the Bank of America branch at Loomls, la the foothills north of Sacramento. Other bank Jobs admitted by the twa, Bertala said, include last year's holdup of the. subur ban Ardea Way branch of the Bank of America at Sacramento and two robberies of a bank ia Riverton, Utah. The pair apprently made' their escape last week by driving to a private airstrip near Sacra mento and then flying back to Utah in a light plane. Both mea are acheduled to be charged with the Loomls and FalrfieMs holdups before the U.S. commit doner In Sacra meato Tnesday. Blast Shatters Windows in Negro Home BESSEMER, Ala. W A dyna mite blast shattered windows in a house where seven Negro children were sleeping early Monday, but none was injured. Mrs. Dora Mauldin said she heard the explosion about 3 a.m. but did not investigate. She said she awoke again about S a.m. and found windows in one of the bed rooms and bathroom in the three- room house broken. Several boards were knocked off the house and a large hole was discovered near the foundation.
