At Oregon Religious Firesides Are Held By LINDA STEELE Btateemaa Cerretaoiiat EtTGENE Religious Emphasis week is being ohserved on the Uni versity of Oregon campus. Each year the university invites well known speakers and scholars in religious fields to Join forces, re gardless of denominations, to bring about better understanding on controversial subjects. This year, Love, Marriage and Religion Is the general theme. Outside of assemblies, each liv- tng organization has a religious ireside at which a guest speaker presides. Attending these firesides throughout the week will be Jean Ine Day, Gladys Maude, Sue Yeat nian, Judy Keller, Laura Smith, Kaye Tomlinson. Sondra Jochim jen, Sandl Hill. Mary Jam Wait, Jennifer Sercombe, Nancy Denton, Connie Hammond, Judie Temple ton, Carol Hoffman, Rosemary Rhoten. Jan Hall, Elisabeth Wal ton, Anne Heltzel, Marion Baum, Gretchen Kitzmiller, Gloria An drews, Kathy Cook, Linda Davis, Sally Merrill, Nancy Payne, Jean Lidneck, Joyce Stettler, Jeff Ser eombe, Jim Allen, Dale Jones, John Holmes, Phil Goulet, Ken Savage, Ken Lansing, Earl Curtis, Hike McClatn and Ed Syring. Sorority pledge classes work out. dance and song routines and then are required to thine shoes, iron shirts, wash cars, etc., for the fraternity that "buys" them. Marilyn Reaney will appear to PI Beta Phi's "I'm an Indian Too," Jackie LaDue In Alpha Phi's "Harlem Nocturne, and PatH Claggett and Carol Sfolk in Kappa Kappa Gamma's "Turkish Harlem Theme," Jennifer Sercombe and Roger Turk are busy working on the pro motion plans for Greater Oregon as chairmen of the Willamette Valley section. Jackie LaDue has been nomi nated for Sno-Ball Princess at the Froth Sno-Ball, annual Freshman dance which has "Illusions In Ice" at this year's theme.
