BPA Reports '57 Revenue Sets Record PORTLAND. Oct. 11 if - The Bonnevillo Power Administration today reported a record revenue of .J99.970 for fiscal 1S57. The federal .power system Mid more than 21 b i 1 1 i o n kilowatt hoars in the Pacific Northwest in the year, boost in f revenue 1 17 per cent over fiscal 1956. Mid ad ministrator William A. Pearl. J., rubber plant. SchwarUgood said his mother, who owned extensive holdings in Canada and Florida, left half of her estate to Spirkler because he; twice saved the life of her late husband, Charles SchwarUgood. First la France Spickler confirmed that he Jiad saved Schwartzgood first in France during World War I and again in IKS, during the August floods. Spickler told a reporter he first met the senior Schwartzgood in 1911 in France while he was serv ing in the Air Force. He said a bomb burst in the airfield and the two men were badly injured. Spickler said he suffered severe leg and body injuries while his companion was hit by shrapnel in the abdomen. Spickler said that although bad ly injured, he dragged Schwartz good to , a nearby shelter and called doctors who treated both men. Following the incident Spickler said he received the Croix de Guerre for saving the life of his comrade. Raises to His Side The second time, Spickler re lated, was in August 1955 when he was working for SchwarUgood, a die manufacturer in East Strouds burg. Pa. Spickler said he rushed to his friend's side and tried to take him to the hospital in Stroudsburg. But the roads were flooded and he could not go through, he said. He turned back and through flooded roads took his friend to another hospital in Newton, N. J., where he was hospitalized. Two weeks later, Spickler said. Schwartzgood suffered a second heart attack and died Spickler told a reporter he did not know Mrs. Schwartzgood had left him the money: "Oh my gosh . . . don't tell me that' he said when he learned the news. Sen. Johnson Won't Seek Presidency TYLER. Tex.. Oct. 12 OT-Sen. Lyndon B. Johnson has told the Tyler Courier-Times and Morning Telegraph that he would not be a presidential candidate in 1960 even if drafted. Three weeks ago Johnson dis claimed any ambition of seeking the presidency. "I have made it absolutely clear both in private and in public, that I do not seek the nomination," he said. Noting that Johnson said noth ing in his statement about his at titude should he be drafted. Edi tor William Dozier of the Tyler newspapers in an aditorial Oct. I asked the senator his position in such an event. In reply. Johnson said he thought he had made his position clear. "In order to be as specific as possible I repeat the exact words of the question in your letter: 'Would you be a candidate if so requested?' " Johnson wrote. "The answer is I would not be." Lucena was spotted hiding in the baggage compartment of a Pan American Airways plane aft er he had been riding 14 hours without food or water.
