"They're defen sively sound and aggressive. I hi both their games (against Seattle and Cincinnati) and they were very impressive. "But we should win if we play the way I know we can. We certainly have not looked as good here as we did most of the time in the regular season.. Our gen era! overall play has been a 'little sloppy. "One of the reasons. I think. has been the (art that we had too long a layoff. We did not play (or two weeks until our first game in this tournament. 0( course, we had tome work outs but that's nothing like an actual Rime." "We used it in conference games this year and everybody liked it. .Hank Iba of Oklahoma AIM also indicated he approved the rule, but said, "I'd prefer it if you'd give two shots to the player fouled in the act of shooting. He made an appointment for tomorrow with Rep. Keating of New York, senior Republican on the Judiciary Committee. fader Aalltraat Laws Bell came to Washington as a result of the supreme court's re cent decision that pro football is subject to federal antitrust laws. That ruling did not disturb major league baseball s exemp tion from the same controls, but baseball leaders still are showing signs of alarm over their status. Club owners have called a meeting in Florida this Friday to chart strategy in advance of anticipated congressional bearings on the whole field of professional sports. The Supreme Court ruled years ago that big league baseball is not business subject to antitrust statutes. Some congress members. however, favor legislation that would class it as a business. Bell told each of his listeners that pro football owners need some sort of option on the service of their players. I tried to give them exactly the story of the National Football League as it operates," Bell said. He defended the player draft as a means of equalizing the strength of competing teams. And he said he is "definitely in favor" of a Players' Association as long as it would not interfere "in any way with the discipline of the coaches."
