Guests were Mrs. Her man Haggren of Astoria, and Miss Darla Tungate, Co-hoste.ses were Mrs. Alvin Finn and Mrs. Warren PohL ---y - ,. - Miss Vivienne Broyn Tells Betrothal to Spencer Snow At Tea Thursday Afternoon Of interest to friends in Salem, Portland and throughout the state is the announcement being made today by Mr. and Mrs. Chandler Brown of the engagement of their eldest daughter. Miss Vivienne fla mondon Brown, to Spencer MacCormac Snow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Berkeley Snow of Arch Cape, recently of Portland. The betrothal was revealed at a beautifully arranged tea on Thurs day afternoon for which the bride-elect's grandmother, Mrs. Keith . , Powell, her mother and her aunt,' Mrs. Werner Brown, were hostesses at Deepwood, the Powell residence. Friends called between S and 6 o'clock to greet the bride-elect. Receiving with the hostesses and Miss Brown was Mrs. Snow. The wedding is planned for this winter. Miss Brown, who is better known as Plum by her many friends, is a graduate of the University of Oregon. She is a member of Kappa Theta and -the Salem Spinsters. Mr. Snow, also a graduate of the University of Oregon, is a member of Phi Delta Theta. He is now with KFIR in North Bend. Love Birds Reveal Betrothal Guests learned the betrothal news on arriving at the tea and found two pale yellow love birds on the front door. Tiny banners with the names. Plum and Spencer, extended from the birds' beaks. The rooms were decorated with bouquets of chrysanthemums in the pale yellow and champagne tones. The tea table was covered with a while Italian embroidered cutwork cloth and centered with an anti que silver boat filled with yellow baby chrysanthemums and white roses flanked by white tapers in silver candelabra. Presiding at the tea urns were Mrs. Chester Cox, Mrs. Donald A. Young, Miss Elizabeth Lord, Mrs. Bernard 0. Schuckins. Mrs. Francis D. McCormack and Mrs. Brcyman Boise. The hostesses are planning a similar tea for Saturday afternoon at Deepwood in honor of Miss Brown's engagement. Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 o'clock. Pouring will be Mrs. W.
