or synthetic detergent. Then, dis

aa enamel container and add the
wet nylon garments Immediately.
Stir gently and keep the tempera
ture about the same. Tempera
ture in excess of ISO T. may set
wringles in the nylon that are hard
to remove. .'
Garments can be removed in
JO minutes If whiteness is evenly
restored. Rinse them thoroughly
in hot water until no odor of color
remover la left. ,
If the whiteness is not restored
in the first M minutes, leave the
garments ia for an additional half-hour.
When the garments are white
ana nncea, immerse tnem In a
mixture of two tablespoons of
chlorine bleach and two table
spoons of synthetic detergent to
one gallon of warm water. Soak
for 10 minutes, stirring occasion
ally and then rinse the clothes
well in warm water. Let the new
ly-whitened garments drip dry.

garments tested.

CARROT AND EGG SALAD

H cup grated carrots'
U cup chopped celery
4 hard-cooked eggs, chopped
5 teaspoons lemon Juice
4 strips crisp bacoa,
finely crumbled
Dash of dry mustard
Mayonnaise for mixing .
Salt to taste.
Bread -
Combine all Ingredients: mix
well. Spresd on 4 to 5 slices of
bread; add a lettuce leaf and top
witn additional slices ot bread.

Open both ends of a can of
corned beef hash and push out
the meat so It is whole. . Cut the
roll into four slices and brown
well in butter or margarine. Serve
on toasted buns with chili sauce.
