LIBERTY . ., r ' 1 1 i M : r WeC.Me-WeGiYe Robert Riggs Takes Bride at Nuptials Of interest to the bridegroom's friends is the marriage of Miss Virginia Rae Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hansen of Longview, Wash., and Robert Col burn Riggs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earle Riggs of Salem, which took place on August 12 at the First Baptist Church in Longview, Dr. H. C. Price of Portland per formed the afternoon ceremony. Thomas Tavener was the vocalist and Miss Sandra Brown the organ ist. The bride's gown wat fashioned of rose patterned lace and nylon tulle with tulle skirt banded in lace. Handout lace edged the neck line, and iridescent sequins were embroidered on the bodice. Her fingertip length veil fell from a headpiece of rose patterned lace embroidered in sequins. She car ried a cascade of roses and stepha notis centered with an orchid. Princess style gowns of turquoise embroidered taffeta, with ballerina skirts were worn by the attend ants. They carried baskets of Esther Reed daisies and roses., r . Sister H.iwr Attendant Miss Jackie Hansen, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and bridesmaids were Mrs. Thomas Tavener of Albany, Miss Helen Hopkins of Lewiston. Idaho, and Miss Nannette Monk of Portland, a cousin of the bride. The flower (iris were Karen Marie Hansen, a cousin of the bride and Carol Hoi- man. Gregg Riggs, nephew of the bridegroom, was the ringbearer. For her daughter's wedding. Mrs. Hansen chose a lavender and white printed nylon gown and Mrs. Rises was In navy blue. Their cor sages were gold orchids. Annual Picnic for Shangrila Residents Shangrila Avenue residents had their annual celebration Sunday, starting with a picnic in the after noon witn the residents and guests numbering 100, The picnic is an annual affair and was held on the lawn of the Shangrila Shufflers Square dance club president, Mrs. Helen Smith. In the evening there was a street dance, with the street blocked off for the occasion. The street was decorated and lighted especially for this affair.
