and gave their approval for West
German Chancellor Konrad Ade

To the President's outspoken re

several periods the uncomfortable
drainage tube which has been In
sorted through his nostrils to his
stomach ever since his operation.
Eisenhower spent a half hour
conferring with Chief Aide Sher

his personal secretary. In the
course of these talks he signed 27
bills and other official papers
including the nomination of Los
Angeles Judge Victor R. Hansen to
head the Justice Department's anti
trust division.
Politics Not Discussed
One subject of conversation re

talked with Eisenhower about his
second term plans in the light of
thin second illness in nine months,
replied;
"There has been no talk at all."
A 115 p.m., EDT. medical bul

intestinal surgery early last Satur
day, said:
'The President's progress con
tinues to be satisfactory.
"His temperature, blood pres

sentially normal.
Total of 30 Minutes
"The President has been out of
bed twice this morning for an ag
gregate of 30 minutes. '
"He indulged in his usual walk
ing exercises at that time, sup
ported slightly by an attendant
(hospital aide J. W. Teaney.i
"The decompression tube is now
being periodically removed. He is
still on intravenous feeding.
"Permission was given by the
physicians for the President to
meet this morning with members
o( his staff on White House busi

will "continue to seek'' such a
renunciation and also will go on
pressing for release nf 13 Amer-
