SILVERTON Ramona Chap ter, Order of the Eastern Star, observed its 58th birthday anni versary with a no-host dinner Tuesday night in the chapter din ing hall. Following the dinner, a pro gram was given by children ,of the members. Included on the ' program were Cathy Lovre, Lark ; and Tom Weisner, Kelly Ann,' Jeff and Christ Enloe, Patsy Schmid, Janet Larsen, Kit Car son and Eva Guy. Mrs. Norman : Nyhue and Mrs. Steve Enloe, Jr., directed the program. A short business meeting was conducted by the worthy matron, Mrs. Austin Sanford, and the worthy patron, Harry Riches. The members were invited to attend the reception Sunday, April 15, for Peggy Dobson, Grand Repre sentative for Ohio, Order of Rain bow for Girls. Mrs. Earle Den ham of Portland, Grand Treas urer of the Grand Chapter of Oregon, will visit Ramona Chap ter at the April 24 meeting. Laurel Social Club Is Entertained Mrs. Phillip Peterson enter tained the Laurel Social Hour cluh Tuesday afternoon at her " home. Mrs. Lloyd Hoxie, a guest, gave a talk on her trip to south ern California, and on the living conditions in Mexico. Mrs. Hox ic's hobby is gardening and she showed various collections of cac tus and shrub plantings. Several members donated clothing and quilts to be sent to a needy family. A number of late issues of magazines were brought for Salem hospitals. Sev eral dozen cookies were reported sent to a Veteran s hospital. Miss Nancy Otto, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Henry G. Otto won second place as pianist in the Ktillman-Kcllcv Scholarship con test, sponsored by the National Vi-rieralion of Music clubs in Portland.
