His companion, Ronnie Coyle, laid he struggled back to the beach when the high wave caught both of them as they fished from the rocky shore. With the coming of the "Country Supper" on April t at the Commu nity Center and with fanning start ing It was thought that one social event was plenty for this time of year. It is hoped that every one in the community will turn out for the "Country Supper" so that the goal decided upon, upkeep of the cen ter building, can be made. Removal of Stalin Picture Creates Riot BERLIN UfU Removal of a large Stalin picture in Communist East Germany brought on a small scale riot last Sunday, the League of Free Jurists reported Tuesday. The league said disappearance of the picture touched off fighting between Communist party mem bers. The picture, about 10 by 13 feet, was removed from the front of party headquarters in Finster- iwalde, the league said, in line i with Moscow's efforts to discredit Stalin. i The league, an anti-Communist West Berlin organization with con tacts in the East, reported that Communist people's police were called out, but only ringed the party headquarters and did not try to stop the fighting. The riot ing was reported to have continued sporadically for several Lours. The fighting groufr-against inhu manity, another West Berlin anti Communist organization, reported that Stalin pictures have been re- I moved from school rooms in Pots dam, just outside Berlin. Government Businessmen Lose Appeal WASHINGTON W - The House Banking committee, approving a two-year extension of the defense production act, Tuesday ignored appeals by Secretary of Commerce weeks to ease restrictions on busi nessmen in government. . Not only did it leave existing limitations in the act, it extended them to apply to executive "re servists" who may be called up in the future. Weeks asked the committee to repeal provisions of the defense production act which require so called "dollar a year" men to make a financial accounting of their business interests before serving in unpaid government jobs. Weeks called the financial dis closure requirement "wrong and unnecessary" and an Invasion of privacy. Extension of the defense pro duction act for two years chiefly allows the president to maintain mobilization plans in stale of readiness. ' SLAIN PAH. IDENTIFIED .
