They Make Friendi By JERYME ENGLISH Statesman Seciety Editor Sojourners Is an organization f aimed at helping women, new to the capital city of Oregon, make friends i and become acquainted with the com- . munity. The group holds dessert lunch eons and card parties twice a month at the Salem Woman's Club, with as many as 75 attending. Other social affairs augment the calendar during the year and include two dances, no- . host dinner parties and a picnic ,in the summer. , Members represent all parts of Oregon, the Northwest end many oth er states. Members may maintain their membership as long as desired, "but can only hold office the first two 1 years. Membership is by invitation and newcomers are sponsored by a member. - Sojourners swas organized eleven years ago by nine women, six of whom still reside in Salem.
