His work is exhibited in - the Metropolitan Museum of Art and in museums in Chicago, Minneapolis, Detroit, Cincinnati, Washington, D. C, Portland, Ore., and Davenport, Iowa. Walters was born in Fort Madi son, Iowa, June 19, 1883. Ice-Coated Road Blamed for Accidents on Salem Bypass A Portland woman escaped with only minor injuries Saturday after her car skidded on an ice-coated section of the Salem bypass and plunged off a 60-foot fill. . Treated for a head laceration af ter the 10:30 a.m. mishap was f Gerardine Therese De Grandpere, lone occupant of a 1951 Plymouth which was demolished. Mrs. De Grandpere's accident was the worst half of a doubleheader which included a Canadian Car driven by Joseph M. Babich, Kitchener, On tario. Babich was driving his 1949 Monarchy-Berth behind Mrs. De Grandpere when she skidded on Jackson Hill at the south end of the oA-pass. Babich also lost con trol on the icy pavement and crashed into a guard rail on the opposite side of the highway, heavily damaging the front end of his auto. Neither he nor his passengers were injured. ' : A gasoline transport and trailer, also skidding, threaded a perilous trail past the wrecked car. Several other mishaps, blamed to icy conditions, were reported by area police Saturday.
