The dividend was boosted for the second time sincethe turn of the year. The company hiked the divi dend from 75 cents to $1 a share in January. Later, the common stock was split 2-for-l and the divi dend was 50 cents a share, equal to $1 on the old stock. Based on the former capitalization, Tues day's dividend declaration was worth $1.30 a share. Hog Prices Tumble Again CHICAGO UP A 50 to 75 cent price break sent hogs tumbling to the lowest levels in nearly 13 years Tuesday. Announcement the government would buy pork and lard to help bolster the hog market had no in fluence as the buying program has not started as yet. Most hogs sold at $13.00 to $13.50 a hundred pounds. ' f hgS sold above that price Major reason for the price break, livestock men said, was the receipt of 20,000 hogs. This was the largest number of hogs offered for sale since Jan. 3. I Wheat, was aided by news the Agriculture Department purchased 6,730,300 pounds of wheat flour for donation to the needy. This brings the total of such purchases to 17,236,400 pounds. Also help ful was news Greece had bought 900.000 bushels of hard wheat. There also was some buying in new crop futures on the weekly V eather Bureau crop report, which noted soil moisture was getting! short in the Great Plains "partic- , , . . , Ularly in the northern portion where general precipitation is now needed to maintain wheat in good to very good condition." Stock Market Advance Ends NEW YORK LB A moderate decline Tuesday snapped the stock market's string of seven straight aauy aavances. Losses in key stocks ran to as much as 2 points, but here and there were gainers of a point or better. The Associated Press average of 60 stocks dropped 90 cents to $169. 80. The industrials were off $1.40 and the rails 90 cents. The utilities advanced 10 cents. In the seven days of a rising ; market the AP average had gained $5.30 Tuesday s fall still left the '. average $4.40 ahead of where it was at the close of Oct. 13. Trading volume totaled 1,950,000 shares compared with 1,820,000 Monday.
