UP)' Campers to Eau Claire County's youth camp are no litterbugs. They leave behind camp improve-1 menta instead of cans and dirty paper 'cups and plates. Each group of campers follows a rule set up by the county .board when it donated the, land for the camp start a conservation proj ect to add to the beauty of the area. The board gave 160 acres to the non-profit Eau Claire County Youth Camp, Inc., and Tony Dien hammer. Fall Creek, gave an ad joining 19. acres. Local citizens built three 14-bed cabins and a kitchen and timber on. the tract helps to pay for other expenses. Campers find an abun dance of wild life, but there is no hunting. Several varieties of trees grow on the preserve and nature studies are a part of each outing. The groups havs planted pines,! cedars, balsam, fir and dogwood and have shored up a creek bank with a erosioll stair. Fishing is permitted in a well stocked trout stream, and the youngsters learn while they play, under adult supervision. Credit for the camp's founding goes to Miss Jennie Websfer, coun ty superintendent" of schools, who convinced the board that rather than ruining the area, the young people might make, it an asset to the county.
