A passerby and firemen saved jum. - : He was released after treatment for shock at Maryland General Hospital: : The flag pole sticks out from the aide of the school building and Avara was trying to replace the rope used to run the flag up the pole. - - He was wearing a safety line but apparently it broke and he almost fell before he could grab the pole. A passerby, still unidentified, dashed into the principal's office to report the accident and . then scurried on up to the roof of the building. He managed to swing the flag pole rope around Avara sev eral times as Avara hung on des perately. Avara apparently lost conscious ness before firemen arrived, rigged ladders', and carried him down. (J) Police quoted a 10-year-old boy Thursday as saying he locked his younger brother and a playmate in a trunk in the attic while the three were playing "space ship." . Huge Bird Crashes Through Windshield FRINEVILLE UH A huge bird crashed through the windshield of Bob Barney's car as he drove on a -highway near here. He managed to stay on the road despite the dying bird's clawing talons. - , I Hunters tentatively identified the bird, with a wing 4 spread measuring 74 inches and a body length of 34 inches, as a bald eagle.'
