Ice Creams has outdone
himself this time! New Carna
tion Rainbow Ice Cream is the
top creation of his career.
He started with Carnation
De Luxe Vanilla Ice Cream,
'cause everyone loves it so.
Then for the flavor of fresh
picked raspberries, he marbled
in Carnation Raspberry Ice
Cream. And for "sour-sweet"
tang, he added colorful ribbons
of Carnation Lime Ice Cream.
So to keep a short story
short, that's how Carnation

Until the last century, ice
cream was restricted to4he,
rich, the famous, the noble.'
Nero is said to have ordered
the world's first ice cream; he
had slaves bring snow from
the mountains ancLmix it with
honey and fruit. Catherine de
Medici of Italy introduced ice
cream to the French court.
Charles I of England kept hit
ice cream recipes secret, believ
ing they were too good for the
average man. George Washing,
ton loved ice cream, and once
bought . $200 worth in New
York. (Just think how he
would have enjoyed Carnation

Some of the costumes your
guests might wear are grass
skirts, Hawaiian-pattern sport
shirts and flowered dresses,
razeed "beachcomber white

nos. Have individual flowers
for the women's hair (iris and
gladioli make fine "orchids ).
The meal should be served out
doors on low tables-no chairs !
Cover the tables with ferns,
leaves, and such tropical fruits
as bananas, avocados and pine
apples. Several Hawaiian rec
ords for your phonograph will
add to the tropical atmosphere
Guests will eat most of the
food with their fingers, so have
plenty of paper napkins, and
perhaps finger bowls. Typical
Hawaiian entrees you might
serve are fried shrimp or bar
beetled ribs. -
