Valley News Statesman News Service Valley Briefs Silverton Area Districts Set School Voting 15 SILVERTON Rural school districts in the Silverton area are announcing election for Monday from 2 to 8 p. m. Included are: Central Howell: Filing for of fice, are Don Kuenzi, Maurice jHynes, Wayne Lovre, Walter Haverson, Dale Krug, and Martin Maurer. Three directors are to be elected. Hold-over directors are Grover Lichty and Clarence Simmons. Evergreen: George Kufman, Monroe Hanson, Edson Kimsey and Alfred VonFlue are seeking election with holdovers including Melvin Kaser and Emmanuel Kef lerhals. Bethany: Directors to be voted on are Leo Peterson, Roy Herr and Alvert Overlund with hold overs including Tom Martin and Ted Sweeton. Silver Crest: No petitions have been filed for directors here and election will be by write-ins. By ron Gordon is the retiring mem ber. Holdovers are Maurice Duval and Clarence Koehler. Silverton Ends Bible Course With Program SILVERTON The Silverton Methodist Church concluded its two weeks of Bible School Friday with individual programs held in the different grades. First and second grades studied "Outdoors in Palestine" with Mrs. Norman Dodds as teacher and as sistants were Mrs. Roger Wertz and Miss Kit Carson. Third and fourth grades had the same topic with "Praise Ye the Lord" as an additional subject. Teachers were Mrs. Earl-Erikson and Mrs. Al bert Rasmussen.. In the fifth and sixth grades, students had the same topics as the two former with Mrs. John Branson as the teacher. Directing the kindergarten were Mrs. Floyd Lauber, Mrs. Ray Beery and Mrs. Fred Richards. Bible School was also concluded at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church with and pro gram Friday night at the church. Participating in both the vacation Bible v School and the program were also the First Baptist Church, the Assembly of God and the Church of God. Rebekahs Set District Meet Wednesday Statesman Newi Service LYONS Annual convention of district No. 7 of the Rebekah Lodge will be held Wednesday afternoon and night, June 22, at the Mari-Linn High School gym Registration for the affair will be held Wednesday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The afternoon schedule will include seating of conven tion officers and introduction of various lodge officials. Other items in the afternoon will be appointment of committees and reports from the various lodges in the district A highlight will be an evening dinner, followed by entertain ment, reports of committees, con ferring of degrees, and an ad dress by assembly president Edna Bradley. More than 100 persons are ex pected to attend the convention.
