Three Texas
Children Die
In Rainstorm
QUANAH, Tex. IB Three small
children were drowned in a farm
storm cellar near this West Texas
town early Sunday morning' as vi
olent hail and rainstorms lashed
a wide section of the state.
The three drowning victims were
the children of Mr. and Mrs. Ira
Keeney.
The oldest of the three victims
was 6 years old.
The Keeneys, fearing a tornado
thunderstorm that struck their
area, went into the storm cellar
with their four small children.
When the storm subsided, they
opened the cellar door. A wall of
water rushed in, knocking them
back. The water quickly filled the
cellar and the Keeneys were able
to save only one of their four children.
