Friday to send the stock market
ahead in its third straight advance.
A rise of $1.10 was scored by the
Associated Press average of 60
stocks at $163.50. All three compo
nents were up industrials $1.70,
railroads 70 cents, and utilities 50
cents.
There were 1,183 individual is
sues traded. Gainers numbered 626
while there were 321 losers. Sixty
seven issues attained new highs
for the year, and 9 touched new
lows. i
