nist MIG-type jet Gghters invaded,
Danish territory and started to.
Intercept a U. S. Air Force train-!
ing plane Thursday, but failed to
open fire.- v." --j
The American plane was a two-,
place jet trainer being delivered
to Denmark'! Air Force from a
VS. base in West Germany. The
craft and its two American ocr
cupants finished the flight safely.
The , Americans, "whose names
were not released immediately,
told Danish Air Force authorities
that the MIG-type fighters buzzed
their plane over the Danish is

officer of the staff of the Danish
supreme commander, said that in
vestigations were being carried
out to establish, if possible, the ;
nationality of the intruding planes.

Kulich Case

Magnusen (D-Wash) asked Thurs
day for a congressional inquiry in
to the Army's proposed "undesir
able" discharge of a reserve cor
poral whose father -was accused
of being a Communist. .
I seriously- wonder whether H
is not a violation of constitutional
. guarantees to draft a man into
the service and then subject him
to the lifetime handicap of an un
desirable discharge because of
something his father may have
said or done or believed before
the son was taken into the ser
vice" Magnuson said in a House
.speech.
"In a free America any use of a
doctrine of guilt by association is
bad enough; guilt by inheritance
is even more intolerable."
Magnuson introduced a resolu
tion calling for an investigation by
the Armed Services Committee.
The serviceman involved is Cpl.
Walter William Kulich, 22, Abet-
i deen. Wash. Kulich got an honor
i able certificate of separation from
service on Jan. C after two years
active duty .t About a month later
according to Magnuson he was
told $y the Army it had received
charges his father was a Commu
nist j He was told ht could at
tempt to disprove the charges or
i accept an "undesirable" discharge.
