Newspaper Page TextGold Found on Golf Course SEATTLE l That old gig about digging divots like' a miner is no joke at Seattle's Jackson Park golf course. - P. M. Masterson, the Park De partment golf director, displayed several chunks of gold-bearing ore Friday, which he said be found at the scene of a golf course re grading job. He said prospector friends esti mated it would assay at $200 to $230 a ton if he could find that much. The biggest piece was about half the size of his fist. So far. there's no gold rush. Stocks Reach New Highs NEW YORK W A new record high mark was reached this week by the stock market That com pletes the recovery from the major March break. The market now has racked up eight straight advances. It was last March 4 that the .mar ket reached a new top with the Associated Press average of 60 stocks at $162.60. Right after that it tumbled for six days in a major reaction. It took nearly five weeks of steady recovery to overcome the effects of that deep drop.
