Henry Helser finished testifying Wednes day after five days on the witness stand in the federal government's injunction suit against the Port land, Ore.," investment company- he heads. Under questioning by his attor ney, Robert E. Burns. Helser said lie had close contact with high officials of various companies in which investments were made for Helser clients. With Helser's testimony finished, Thomas F. Kelly, Securities Ex change Commission investigator, started giving a statistical report on stock transactions by the Hel ser company. Burs objected there were "mis representations in the SEC report. The SEC asks an injunction to halt Helser company practices which it says violate federal secur ities laws. No penalty is asked. Erwin Wed nesday was charged with attempt ing to promote disloyalty and dis affection among fellow prisoners of war in North Korean prison camps. The 37-year-old officer, now serv ing with the 38th Field Artillery Bn.i 2nd Infantry Division, was a prisoner of Communist forces from Dec. 1, 19507 to Sept. 4. 1953. The charges also accuse him of v"knowingly communicating, cor responding and holding intercourse with and giving aid and comfort to the enemy." All the offenses are supposed to have occurred in 1951. Nuclear Power Survey Planned At Puget Sound WASHINGTON un The Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) ap proved Wednesday ,a study to de termine the best nuclear power system for the Puget Sound area. AEC Chairman Lewis L. Strauss said the study will be made by the Puget Sound Utilities Council made up of five utility organi zations in the State of Washington. They serve about 500,000 custom ers. Sailor Dies as Ships Collide NORFOLK, Va. (UP) Two ships collided in a dense fog bank off the North Carolina coast early Wednesday, killing one seaman and leaving one vessel disabled. The disabled vessel, the 320-foot Ciudad de Bogota, radioed a res cue ship late Wednesday that she was taking water and the situation was "worse." The other ship, the 323-foot cabin motorship Bahia de Matanzas, was standing by. Rescue vessels groped through a 700-foot deep fog bank toward the Bogota. Boy Wants to Die as Easter Suit Pawned INDIANAPOLIS OTP)- A 14- year-old boy said Wednesday that he tried to kill himself because his v w l -iiT j h,ch he bought with money saved from delivering newspapers,: and pawned it to buy liquor. The boy became ill at school Tuesday. He was given emergency treatment at a hospital and told authorities he took two overdoses of sleeping pills. At first, the boy said, he had planned to drown himself in a creek but rejected the idea. He said he bought the new suit with money saved from deliver ing newspapers. He wore it Easter Sunday. Then, he said, his father pawned it.
