Water Safety Meeting Set Water safety and Coast Guard regulations will be explained to Salem boating enthusiasts at ' a meeting to be held Wednesday at 8 p. m. at the Salem Memorial Hospital chapel. Officials ! of the Coast Guard auxiliary will be here to outline regulations in force for water traffic. The auxiliary is com prised of a group of small boat operators whose aim' is 'to assist the regular Coast Guard in teach ing safety to the small boat owner. ;' ' The Wednesday meeting "has the blessing of Cmdr. G. L. Raw lins, chief of the Portland area Coast Guard section. Cmdr. Raw lins urged the meeting as a means of familiarizing boat oper ators with the functions of the Guard. i Representatives from law en forcement agencies of the area are slated to attend the session. Officers of the auxiliary due to attend include Frank Nau, dis trict operations officer; Elwyn Craven, rear commodore and Ed ward Green, captain in division 7 of the auxiliary. All small boat owners and operators of the community are urged to attend the meeting. Death Claims Widow of Past State Justice Mrs. Lorena Wise Burnett, 86, widow of a former chief justice of the Oregon Supreme Court, died Friday at Tracey, Calif., accord ing to word reaching Salem. Her husband. Judge George H. Burnett, was a member of the Supreme Court for a number of years up to his death some 20 years ago. Mrs. Burnett had re sided in recent years with a daughter, Irs. Florence Wise Em mert, in Tracey, Calif. She was born at Rochester, Minn., Oct. 21, 1868. Mrs.' Burn ett was a member of Chadwick Chapter No. 37; of the Order' of Eastern Star and of Nydia Tem ple No. 4 of Daughters of the Nile. , Surviving in addition to the daughter in the California city, is another daughter, Mrs. Frances Wise Matthews, Seattle, and sev eral grandchildren. A son, Law rence Wise, died several years ago. Funeral services will be held Monday at Tracey.
