Jack's movie work, of course,
has always given at least a hint
of his capabilities. And, also of
course, it has taken television to
get around to exploiting the man's
full potential. It is to TV's credit
that he was even listened to
much less agreed with, when he
made the plaintive statement that
he was not a comic

to reactivate its recently dormant
TV film subsidiary, which will

loses his sponsor on ABC. The
replacement will be "Mr. Citi

based on the good deeds of good
citizens.
BOOK REVIEW: That brilliant
young CBS-TV producer, Ralph
Levy (the original Ed Wynn and
Alan Young shows, Burns & Al
len, Jack Benny, A Christmas
Carol), in collaboration with
UCLA Prof. Walter K. Kingson
and writer Rome Cowgill, has
turned out a highly-readable and
entertaining text book titled
"Broadcasting Television and Ra
dio," a career-slanted survey of
false hopes but neither does it
the entire broadcasting industry.
It pulls no punches, raises no
make it all sound like a mysteri
ous hodge-podge of unattainable
heights.
