The couple's marriage took place in Eros, Arkansas, Dec 29, 1904. ; The Lowerys have resided in the Brooks area since- 1929,' where they are still engaged in farming. The couple's ten children were present for the celebration includ ing: Dewey Lowery, Or an Lowery, Waldo Lowery and Mike Lowery, Mrs. Otis Phillips, G. R. Lowery and Ted Lowery. Brooks: 0. G. Lowery. Scio: Leslie Lowery, Sil- verton. and Mrs. Lois Hillyer, Sa lem. There are 34 grandchildren end 12 great-grandchildren. ' The only members of the family unable to be present were Cpl. The West Salem Woman's Club has slated a meeting for tonight at the West Salem City Hall at 8 p.m. Cards will be in play following the meeting. The com mittee includes Mrs. Myrtle Lar son, Mrs. Kenneth Hendricks, Mrs. Joseph Ritchie, Mrs. Lor raine Eby and Mrs. Dale .Worth- ington. j u Plans for the annual spring benefit tea to be held in April were discussed at the meeting of the Salem Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Monday morning. Miss Dorathea Steusloff gave a report on the recent, successful mem bership drive. Coffee was served by Mrs. Joseph Felton. Dr. Dowell Will Wed University Professoc I Announcement Is being made to day of the engagement of Dr. Mar garet Dowell of Salem, daughter of Dean and Mrs. Austin Allyo Dowell of St. Paul, Minn., to Ar thur E. Gravatt of Salem, son of the late Mrs. L. E. Gravatt of Ta- coma. No date has been set for the wedding. ' Dr. Dowell is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and the University of .Minnesota Medical School. She , has been practicing in Salem for several years. She is a member of Pi Beta Phi. Mr. Gravatt is associate profes sor of sociology at Willamette Un iversity. He is a graduate of Lin field College and received his master's degree from the Uni versity of Oregon. Honoring Dale were his brother, Terry, Debra Michael, Sharron Mills, Henry and Delmer George, and Lornia Brundidge. Another son of the Eichelbergers, Ricky Lynn, will have his first birthday on Saturday. Reid Sheiton, a baritone during his student days at Salem High School and Willamette University, is among the tenors in the chorus of the much-talked-about musical drama "The Saint of Bleecker Street" by Gian-Carlo Menotti which opened recently in New York. Young Sheiton, son of Roy Sheiton of Scio, graduated from Willamette and received his mas ter's degree in music from Uni versity of Michigan. i -Sheiton has appeared in several musical snows on Broadway since graduation.
