On a morning of winter when
I looked . valleyward tq the sea,
I saw 4he sheets of morning, un
ruffled yet by risen sun, swallow

and in the alchemy of night it
seemed a resurrected sea that
drank in the cavities of air and
took wing, inundating the sky. The
river of fog had arisen in my

the prophecy coming with the ran.
When the house had drowned .in

moisture, afloat amidst the trees.
