white pearls. She carried a white

One Air Force jet pilot was killed
and another' parachuted to safety
Friday night when'their Sabrejet
fighter planes crashed in separate
mishaps during a practice mission
The dead pilot was Maj. William
M. Coleman, 36, a native of Ft
Lauderdale, Fla., who has been
living with his wife and two chil
dren near here. His plane crashed
in flames in a field two miles 60uth
of Wilson. ' i
The other pilot, Lt. Col. Rufus
Woody Jr., 32, bailed out safely.

Portland home seems too big for

the dwarf variety, grows about
jthree feet high and six feet across,
touching the sou all around. The
coloring is good and it has berries
on it when it reaches three or
four years. There are a number
of dwarf evergreens now. The
smaller houses have brought a real
development which I do not think
we can call a fad along this line.
One of our Salem nurseries has
rather specialized in dwarf ever
greens and has. a lovely line. Most
of the ji nurseries in the Willam
ette Valley! area carry some
dwarfs.
