as a benefit for the resident girls'
lounge at the YW.
The annual smorgasbord of the
YWCA and YMCA is slated for
November 18, the event this year
to be at the YW.
A Christmas ball is planned at
the YWCA on December 27.
At the Tuesday board meeting a
junior fee of Si, for girls under 12
years of age who participate in

The 50th wedding anniversary of
Mr. ard Mrs. H. P. Whitaker of
Airlie was celebrated at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn Whitaker,
Route 1, Monmouth on 'Sunday,
November 7.' Twenty-six relatives
attended including the families of
two daughters and two sons. They
are Mr. and Mrs. Harrold (Virgie)
Reeves and son, Duane, of Spring
field, Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Doris)

Mrj and Mrs. Whitaker were
married on November 3, ; 1904, in
Bethany, Missouri, and came west
in 1908 to live one year, at Kelso,
Washington' ; before coming to
Oregon in March, 1909 where they
farmed near Independence for two
years. They then bought their
farm one mile north, of Airlie,
where they resided until the place
was made a part of Camp Adair.

an afternoon dress of crystal silk
over taffeta in an auburn shade
with fitted off-the-shoulder bodice
