licity; Mrs. Harold Patterson and
Mrs. Myron Butler, cheer. ;
The group will meet, next week
at the home of Mrs.: Carl Gustaf
son. Mrs. C D. Anderson will be
the program chairman.

sold her 60 acre farm to Theodore
Jones of Harlan and is moving to
Longview, Wash., where she has
purchased a home. t
Mrs. Nelda Burris and three
daughters will also go to Long
view with her mother. Mrs. Tru
eax has a son, Oliver (Bill), liv
ing at Longview.
The Pedee Memorial EUB
church gave a farewell party for
Mrs. Trueax and the Burris fam
ily at the R. J. Smith home, and
the group presented them with a
picture, "Christ at the Door.!
Mr. and Mrs. Jones ( the former
Alberta Burbank) and family plan
to move here soon.

SHERIDAN Word came today
from Cleveland, Ohio, that two
Sheridan brothers, Myron and By
ron Shank, have won i $23 cash
award from the James F. Lincoln
Arc Welding Foundation. ,
; The award came on the basis of
a paper they wrote describing
how they built a cattle squeeze
chute.: ,
Awards from the foundation
totaling $5,000 went to 104 farm
boys of the U.S. Top prize of $600
was won by Paul Faidley, Clay
Center, Kan.

meters. Davis said the plan

Eugene, pleaded innocent and
posted $250 bail pending a hear
ing by Justice of the Peace Wal
ter H. Bell. !
The two men were arrested
over the weekend by Police Chief
E. E. Norfleet in Stayton after
he checked signs of blood and
hair on a parked car and found
venison inside.

ed by the Pedee Memorial EUB
church on Sunday with a program
by ' the children of the Sunday
school and a covered dish dinner
following the morning church ser
vice, with, about 60 persons pre
sent. ' ,1
Saturday was work day on the
new church they are building and
18 persons were out for the day.
Mrs. Mollie Lacey,, 81, who now
lives near Monmouth, was pre
sent Sunday; being the oldest
member of that church.
