It is 24 feet long and will contain county 'registration books as well as separate county bulletin boards where messages may be posted Public address system also will be operated from the booth. It Is being constructed by utate fair carpenters. Senators Ask Study of Possible Legal Action Against Home Builders WASHINGTON CPUSenate hous ing scandal investigators voted Monday to ask the Justice Depart ment whether .criminal action should be brought against two New Jersey builders. The vote, in the Senate Banking Committee, followed a public hear ing at which one of the huilders, Sidney garner of Tenafly, N. J., refused to answer questions, Sarn er stood by his rights 'under the Fifth Amendment not to testify against himself.- The committee decided to send to the Justice i Department the transcript of testimony taken re cently in a secret committee meet ing from Sarner and Ralph Solow, his partner, for possible criminal action. Further, Chairman Capehart (R-Ind.) said the committee de cided to ask the Senate's legis lative counsel whether George L Marcus, a Sarner-Solow partner Discovery of Body Gears Air Mystery . TOLEDO The heavily-wooded area eight miles north-northeast of Toledo yielded the body of R. W. Hall Monday to clear up a three-tnonth-old mystery of the'air lanes. Han had left Boise, Idaho, to fly to Newport, on April 12 last While atni in the air, he radioed the Eu gene field that he had landed safe ly. It was for that reason no cogniz ance was taken of his disappear' ance for several days. He was to have paid a surprise visit to rela tives here. . A prolonged air search for him subsequently failed. Berne Testifies. - This Capehart comment came during the testimony of Gustave M. Berne, of Great Neck, Long Island. Berne said under ques tioning that, he had figured on making a profit by getting a loan in excess of actual costs. There was "a common under standing that a builder . . . would be likely to end up" with a mar gin, he testified, and he was suje the FHA knew of that under standing. Berne testified his FHA-insured loan exceeded the cost of the Rock away Crest Apartments he built at Far Rockaway. Long Island, by $1,370,000 and he also made a mil lion dollar profit on a separate land transaction. Capehart said Berne put in only $3,000 as sponsor and builder of the XhVi million dollar apartment development ' , Attorney Marcus, in complaining about the way the committee was handling the inquiry, protested that it ."didn't give him, Berne. the , chance to prove that he also put up FHA fees and other ex penses. ' : SALES ! 7 Burglary of Grocery Nets Small Loot Police are investigating the weekend burglary of the Miller Street Grocery a venture which yielded the culprit or culprits nothing more than $2 worth of cigarets and cigars. Roy Adsitt, owner of the store at 1199 S. Commercial St, report ed that the break and entry ap parently took place sometime be tween Sunday and Monday morn ing. Adsitt. discovered the bur glary when opening the place for business Monday. 4 Police report entrance was gained to the store by prying off boards at a rear door leading to a store room. The lock was then broken on a door leading into the store. The office was entered, drawers ransacked and an at tempt made to open the safe, po lice said. The cash register' also was rifled but the thieves net ted not a dollar in cash for their pains. Missing were 12 cartons of cig arets and three packages of cigars, according to officers.
