Ore. tfi The San Francisco Seals won both ends of a Pacific Coast League doublehead er here Sunday, uca'eaiing the Port land Beavers 6-3 and 2-1 The Seals won the series here 7-1. Gordon Brunswick led the San Francisco hitting attack in the first game with a homer, a dou ble and two singles The home run in the fifth in- nins with one aboard put the i Seals ahead 3 1 and the Portland ers never caught up. San Francisco pitcher FA Chand ler "allowed only five hits in the opener. But two of those were home runs by Walt Judnich in tne sixth inning and by Don Kggert in the ninth. Ted Beard doubled and scored on an infield out in the fourth in ning to open the Seals' scoring. They added two more in the eighth when Brunswick doubled off Glenn Elliott, advanced to third on a fly and scored when Bob DiPietro tripled. DiPietro scored on Mike Baxes' sacrifice fly. In the second game. Beard hom ered in the second inning. The Seals scored their final run in the sixth when Jim Moran walked, Reno Cheso sacrificed. Brunswick walked and Beard doubled to score Moran. A double by Frank Austin, Hank Arft's single and a sacrifice fly by Dino Restelli a' counted for the Beavers' lone run. Frank Hiller, who went the route for San Francisco in the sec ond game, allowed only three hits. McArthur, OCE football coach, moved up with a 1-up win over Horman Lind and Haase advanced via a 2-1 decision at the expense of Pete Luthi. In the second flight Ed Fitz simmons, who drew a bye, will meet the winner of the Tom Gir-ard-Dick Taylor match in the finals. In the third flight Joe Fitzpatrick topped Tony Costa 2 and 1 and Les Brynelson went into the finals via a bye. The fourth flight saw Lloyd Ferguson top Lester Wood 3 and 1: Roy Wilson beat Frank Hughes 1 up and ' the Earl Bullock-Lew Kelley match still is to be played. Ufi Phil Cavar retta said Sunday night he was flying to Chicago Monday morn ing to talk with White Sox General Manager Frank Lane and "see if we can't get together on some thing." Cavarretta said nothing specific had been agreed upon. "You know I've contacted the majority of the big league clubs about a job," the big ax-Chicago Cub manager said.
