Mrs. Campbell New Chairman Gray Ladies Mrs. Sam Campbell has been appointed the new chairman of the Marion County Red Cross Gray Ladies, according to Mrs. William Perry, chairman of Serv ice Groups for the local chapter. Mrs. Campbell has been la Gray Lady since 1951, has served as a volunteer at Salem Memorial Hos pital, at the visits of the Red Cross Bloodmobile and is now an active worker with the Gray Ladies at the Oregon State Hos pital. She succeeds Mrs. . Harold Olinger, who recently resigned. On Wednesday the Gray Ladies who serve at the Oregon State Hsopital held a insertive train ing meeting at the home of Mrs. Clifford Robinson, 561 Rose St Mrs. Campbell assisted in the capping of the new class of seyen Gray 'Ladies, who recently com pleted their probationary training at the state hospital. Cecil Lam kin of the hospital staff spoke od the work of the new outpa tient clinic at the hospital. Mr. Lamkin, the psychiatric social worker at the outpatient clinic, came to the institution - from Army service. Prior to this he was with the California Mental Hygiene Association. Chapter Observes Friendship Night Ainsworth Chapter, OES ob served Friendship night at the Wednesday meeting at the Scot tish Rite Temple. Presiding were Mrs. Robert Stutzman and George Bixler, worthy matron and pa tron. A candlelight degree was given by the courtesy group in obser vance of "Obligation Night" March birthdays were observed with Mrs. Roy Hunt given a cor- sage in recognition of her. work as organist- Mr. and" Mrs. Morse Stewart At Willamette Queen Finalists are Annou By JULIE MELLOR Statesman Correspondent ' Five freshman women have been selected for the Willamette University Varsity Ball court The Varsity Queen, who will be chosen from the court, will pre side over the ball next Friday evening,-March 26 from 9 to 12 o'clock in the school gymnasium. Candidates for queen are Bar bara Anderson and Pat Halseth, both of Salem; and Peggy Buck ley, Helen Piazza and Sylvia Mor row, all of Portland. Freshman Glee, the main event of the year on campus, will be held Saturday evening in the gym at 8 o'clock f In this all-campus song contest between the respective classes, the favored ones are the seniors. who have three straight wins, and are aiming at a perfect score. But, the other classes sound good, al so, so the final outcome is any one's guess. Blue Monday, with all the haz ing that goes with it, will be held on March 22, .beginning at 10 a. m. in the gym wkth a .perform ance by the losing class, who will then proceed to take their tradi tional dunking in the Mill stream. Coeds to Be Pictured Willamette's beauty has been noticed and photographed by the Oregonian, as a feature in their new pictorial section "Northwest News." Camp Fire Girls To Board Train v Camp Fire Girls from the fifth grade at McKinley School, led by Mrs. Kennit Ward, will board the Shasta Daylight this morning for a field trip to Albany and Cor vallis. It will be the first train ride for many of the girls. -! They will be greeted by Camp Fire Girls at both cities. AlbarJy girls will escort them to the bus depot for their ride to Corvallis where they will visit a museum. Mrs. W. J.
