Or- Sat, Feb. 13. 1954 Employment Gains Noted Records' of the State Unemploy ment - compensation commission show that employment in Oregon industry, trade and service has increased each year since 1949. These records, officials said, re based on actual reports from employers. Preliminary estimates show .the average number of workers In 19S3 at 467,800. rise of 2,600 from the previous year and 51,200 high er than four years before. The number represents a gain of 19.8 per cent over ; 1946, immediate post war year, ; and is about 10 per cent above the best war-time totals. ::?
