Nor. 21, 1353 1st Methodist Concert Set Sunday Night Final plans for the sacred mu sic concert at the First Methodist Church Sunday evening at 8 pjn. have been announced. rhe concert, with the theme, "Thank and Praise," will feature as guest soloist Mrs. Josephine Spaulding of Portland. She is a former member of - the church choir. Prof. Joseph Schnelker of the Willamette University music fac ulty, will be the organist and Howard F. Miller, director of mu sic at First Methodist, will direct both the Wesleyan and Sanctuary choirs. Luthro, at the Silverton hospital since Oct. 23, was able to take a few; steps this week, and her re covery from the polio attack she suffered as described as "very favorable." No paralysis has been found and the severe pains suffered at first have gone, The Rev. Mr. Luthro reports. However, the doctor has requested that no vis itors be permitted yet. Korean People Send Thanks Vision Check Set by Youth Of 1st Baptist International Biblical Scholar To Conduct Salem Conference The College and Business-Age Youth Group will feature a novel meeting at 6:15 Sunday in tne First Baptist Church. Theme for the evening will be "How Is Your Vision?" Miss Flor ibel Gordon will be in charge of the program and Wayne Rollins will serve as the "doctor," pre scribing glasses for all "patients who attend. The Sunday School will be fea tured during the morning and evening services. Glenn DeLapp, one of the general officers of the Sunday School, will speak briefly during the morning radio . serv ice. Richard Teague, a member of the Sunday School, will play a piano solo in the evening. A sound color film will be shown. Pastor Lloyd T. The closing serv ice will be at 7:30 Sunday eve ning when Dr. Kalland s topic will be "How God Populated His City." Pastor Barth Plans Lecture The Rev. Omar N. Barth, pas tor of the Calvary Baptist Church, will hold two services Sunday evening to tell of his three-month tour of Europe and the Holy Land this summer.
