Wright professor of Bible at the Northwest Chris tian College, Eugene, will address the Christian Women's Fellow ship Wednesday evening at the First Christian Church, His topic will be, "The Bible When, Whereby and Wherefore." Dr. Wright received his Ph.D degree from the University of Chicago and has specialized , in Old Testament research. A chap lain during World War II, he joined the Northwest faculty in 1951. Area Leader To Talk Here Miss Ellanore Ewing, western area secretary of the Board of National Missions for the Pres byterian Church, U.S.A. is sched uled to speak at three programs at the First Presbyterian Church during the coming week. Brink er t was elected president this week of the Men's Brotherhood ox the Dallas Methodist Church, suc ceeding Cal Barnhardt. Other new officers are Jack Graham, vice president, and Jack Green wood, secretary-treasurer. Twenty-six members were on hand at the first fall meeting of the group Monday evening to hear a talk by Professor Howard Runkel, department of speech, Willamette University. Miss Amy Girod, sophomore majoring in music at Willamette, presented three piano selections including Lisbestraume by Franz Liszt. Pastor Plans Two Services To Relate Trip Two services will be held Sun day evening at the Calvary Bap tist Church when Pastor Omar N. Barth continues his series of film lectures describing his tour of the Holy Land and Europe this summer. The first will begin at 0 o'clock closing about 7:25 and the second will start at 7:501 This week the Pastor's film message is entitled "Magic of the Mediterranean" and includes vis its to Southern France, Pisa, Florence, Venice, Rome, Athens and Istanbul, many of which fig ure prominantly in Bible history. The story of these cities will be told primarily with color motion pictures, although a few koda chrome slides will also be util ized. The two concluding messages in the series will be given on sub sequent Sunday nights this month. At the concluding film presentationNov. 29, the wastor will display souvenirs and re membrances accumulated on the tour, including a number of stamps and coins from each of the twenty countries visited. He will .also wear an Arab costume with its distinctive Arab Legion headdress. Communion Service Set The Wesleyan Methodist Church will observe communion service following the .11 a.m. worship service. On Monday evening the church will hold its second business meeting of the conference year. Pastor W. A. Kaufmann, who is also field man for the conference, will conduct the services. Former Member To Lead Service Sunday Evening "Sin and the Christian' will be the subject of the. sermon by the Rev. Carl-reid Duhrkopp in the Sunday evening service of the First Evangelical United Breth ren Church. The Rev. Duhrkoop, j a graduate of the Western Evan gelical Seminary in Portland, is a former member of the church. After the service a new series of missionary education programs will be instituted with the show ing of a series of slides taken in India concerning missionary work there. The program will be directed by Earle Riggs, local business man, who received the pictures and the information from his daughter who is now in that mission field with her hus band. The Little Rangers, a junior cowboy choir, will sing during the morning Sunday School hour. This is a special feature of the "Round-Up ' for God" Sunday Cchool contest which closes Sun day. Narcotic Films Showing Told Two films, "The Assassin of Youth" and "The Terrible Truth," will be shown by the Youth Fellowship Group of the Free Methodist Church at their meeting Sunday at 6:45 p.m. The films, produced by the Narcotics Foundation of Los An geles, deal with the effects of narcotics on youth. The public is invited to see these educational films. National Leader To Head Service Mrs. Charles A.
