Loren Ediger Talks Sunday Loren Ediger of Salem, now home on furlough fromi the Mex ican Indian Mission with head quarters at Tamazunchile, Mex ico, will occupy the pulait at Les lie Methodist Caurchj Sunday morning. Said Dr. Franklin Clark Fry, United Lutheran president and vice chairman of the U.S. Conference for the World Council: "The international Christian movement has done more to link men of many nations, reconcile eld enemies and lay a solid founda tion for peace and brotherhood since World War II than any other force on earth." The Council has poured out 24, 362 tons of clothing and food and $21,011,590 in funds aiding refu gees, building emergency church es, restoring villages, replacing libraries and housing the home less. And it has developed channels for sounding out the. combined views of chwehes within the Unit ed Nations and at high government levels on such issues as religious liberties, human rights and moral justice. Key f igure In Italy Fracas To Talk Here The Rev. Anthony i Caliandro, who figured! in the news recent ly with rigard to religious harassment in Italy, will speak in Salem nxt Wednesday eve ning at the First Evangelical United Brethren Church. Prof. Caliandro was born in Italy but completed his college and t graduate work in the U.SA-, receiving a B.Sc and M.A. from New York University. After serving many years as pas tor, editor, teacher and Direc tor of Christ's Mission in New York City, Prof. Caliandro re turned to Italy to establish the Evangelical Biblical Institute, at Portici, Naples. It was for his connection vfith this school that Prof. Caliandro was asked to leave Italy. They are lo cated at 3724 Mahrt Ave. Women's, Group Formed In Grace Lutheran Church A new women's group has been recently organized as an auxiliary of Grace Lutheran Church. The group does not yet have a name but it will be associated with the National Women's Missionary Federation. The monthly meet ings the second Tuesday of each month will be held in the eve nings to permit attendance of women who are employed or oth erwise unable to attend in the daytime The August meeting was held at the Henry , Storlie resi dence. They are currently on leave from Assam, India, after five years missionary work sponsored by Calvary Baptist and the American Baptist Convention The Rev. Mr. Houston, who was director of youth fat Salem Church in 1946-47, will speak at the morning service, which will be broadcast over KGAE, on "Feed My Sheep."
