The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph B. Meyer and the groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Fred W. Burger. The couple will live in Portland. (Arte Studio). - Reports Given At Meeting 1 The regular monthly business meeting of Salem Unit 136, Am erican Legion Auxiliary was held Thursday evening at the. Salem Woman's Club and Mrs.THarrie Hendricks was introduced as a new member. Poppy Poster chairman, Mrs. Robert Freiss, reported that all material for the Poppy Posters had been placed in the schools, and Judging would take place next month. Girls state chairman, Mrs. Dow Lovell, reported that the unit would again sponsor two girls to Girls State in June. Americanism chair man, Mrs. Ellis Drake, distributed "Flag Codes' to the members and dis played a flag which the unit will present later to a Brownie troup, which they will sponsor. On May 1 the unit will . hold a rummage sale. Junior Auxiliary met Saturday at the Woman's Club. Last month they made St Patrick tray favors and sent 50 to Dornbecker Hos pital in Portland and 50 to the Medford Hospital. Saturday they made tray favors for Easter, which will be sent to the Tuberculosis Hospital. ! The sewing group will meet for sewing March 16 at 10:30 at the home of Mrs. Theodore Ullakko, 1756 Court St At the social meeting of the unit on March 26 the past presidents of the unit will be honored. A cov ered dish dinner for the auxiliary and post will be held April 30 at the Mayflower Hall. Hostesses for the meeting Thursday were Mrs. Harold Shoberg and Mrs. Rose mary Henningsgard. S. .National Parks. ; Wo'odburn Schools To Close, 3 Days Statesman Htws Senrica ' WOODBURN Woodburn'i public schools will be closed Mon day, Tuesday and Wednesday to permit teachers to attend the Ore gon Education Association con vention. Classes will convene on schedule the following Thursday, March 19.- St Luke's Parochial School in Woodburn will not take a vaca tion while the public schools are closed. Their, spring vacation Is scheduled for April 6 and 7. Young Matrons will meet Thurs day at the Mayflower Hall at 8 p. m. Miss Hattie Bratzel will show slides taken during the Nuernberg trials in Germany. Cake and punch were -served. ; Mr and .Mrs. Sam Ramp and family left Monday from, Port land airport for Detroit Mich whsre they will pick up a new car. then drive on to New York. They expect to be back in about two weeks. There will be no school Monday and Tuesday, March 16-17 because of the teachers convention. . The Brooks Sewing Club met Building Bee Set At Waldo Hills . . tatemua Ktws Strrke . WALDO HILLS A community building "bee" and no-host dinner is planned for Sunday, March 22, at the Waldo Hills Club House. Lumber and building materials will be on hand for the addition which has been planned. Workers -are asked to bring tools. Plans call for a one-story an nex to include rest rooms and en trance hall.
